World Record Barcelo’s Municipal Park 2025
The Barcelos Power Fitness event aims to promote physical activity, healthy habits, combat obesity and a sedentary lifestyle, and enhance sports and the indoor and outdoor sports offerings in the municipality of Barcelos. Participation in the Official World Record has a social aspect, where participants can contribute monetary donations and/or food, which will be distributed to the Portuguese League Against Cancer – Barcelos Branch and a local social association.
This initiative stems from a partnership proposal for the event and record with instructors Luís Gomes and Ricardo Sá, based on a 22-hour spinning bike charity event held in 2024, the proceeds of which went to the Barcelos Volunteer Firefighters. Following this challenge, we launched a proposal for the world record for the longest spinning bike class for these instructors.
Over the course of 25 hours and 30 minutes, 28 spinning classes were held, taught by the following instructors:
António Ferreira, Vítor Novais, Tiago Pereira, José Pedro Faria, Cristina Machado, Nuno Silva, Tomás Oliveira, Carlos Costa, Andréia Sousa, Tiago Cruz, Cristiano Ferreira, João Martina, Cláudio Araújo, Joana Fernandes, Rui Pinho, Marco Caldelas, and Nelson Veloso.
Supported throughout the event by the resident DJ: Paulo Sousa, along with Filipe Miranda on drums and DJ D VIBES.
The instructors who broke the record are Luís Gomes and Ricardo Sá.
Organization: Barcelos City Council, Youth and Sports Division It’s also important to thank the entire team that worked hard on this project, not identified here, from the Youth and Sports Division, as well as the Barcelos City Council, with whom we had the pleasure of working together to validate this event.
They concluded the event with 28 classes taught by Luís Gomes and Ricardo Sá, accompanied throughout by DJ Paulo Sousa.
A total of 378 participants attended the event over the course of 25 hours and 30 minutes. This event was filled with joy, celebration, good spirits, and a great deal of determination to pull off this magnificent event, which, let’s not forget, also had a charitable dimension.
